The class of 2021 meet up - virtually - for the first time this season
As the first two rounds of the 2021 Idemitsu Asia Talent Cup draw ever closer, it's time to start getting in gear for the start of the season. On Thursday the 25th of February, the first Accenture CHAMPS virtual workshop did just that, with the class of 2021 connecting from around the world for the first time this season.
On the agenda was an introduction to the new riders joining the grid this year, a look back at 2020 and a recap of some of the key points learned last year - including training and communication tips from coach Diego Lozano and Accenture mentors.
The core segment of the workshop was devoted to the Covid-19 protocol the group will near to adhere to for the first two rounds of the season in Qatar, including a practical run through of how everything will work to make sure everyone is ready to race. After, the first quiz of the year kept the riders on their toes and reminded them the scores count - with top contributors in 2020 gaining some nice rewards at the end of the season, including MotoGP™ signed boots and equipment from top riders.
The group will next connect up in person at Losail International Circuit in Qatar, with the IATC pre-season test set to take place from the 19th to the 21st of March alongside the Moto2™ and Moto3™ test.
