The ATC points leader makes it five from five in 2021 as he wins his first race in the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup
Taiyo Furusato began 2021 with four out of four victories in the Idemitsu Asia Talent Cup, and the Japanese talent joined the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup grid for the first time at Mugello. Incredibly, his victory run continued in Italy as he made it five from five in 2021, taking a stunning win in his debut Rookies Cup race.
After a solid qualifying, the Japanese rider went on to fight at the front throughout and by the last few laps was a clear contender for the win, despite never having raced at Mugello before. Leading out the final corner as those behind tucked into the slipstream, Furusato judged it to perfection to take victory on his Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup debut.
