An enthralling and incident packed final race of the 2016 Shell Advance Asia Talent Cup season saw Thai rider Somkiat Chantra clinch the title, with Turkish siblings Can Oncu and Deniz Oncu joining the new champion on the podium at the Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia.
It was pole man Andi Izdihar who took his third win of the 2016 Shell Advance Asia Talent Cup in Race 1 at Sepang on Saturday, with the Indonesian rider joined on the podium by Japanese pair Kazuki Masaki and Yuki Kunii, who finished second and third respectively.
The 2016 Shell Advance Asia Talent Cup riders undertook their final qualifying session of the season on Friday at the Sepang International Circuit with Andi Izdihar taking pole with a time of 2'29.231.
The young riders competing in the 2016 Shell Advance Asia Talent Cup are all set for their final battle of the season at the Sepang International Circuit over the 28th-30th October weekend, coinciding with MotoGP™ visiting the venue for the Grand Prix of Malaysia.
A group of 114 aspiring young riders were in attendance at the Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia, on Wednesday 26th October, as the selection event for the 2017 Asia Talent Cup took place under the watchful eye of Cup Director Alberto Puig.
